For air freight services, Pallet2ship offers 2-5 working days transit time. However, for a sea freight service (port to port ONLY) transit time is approximately 34 working days (E.g to Colombo port.). Typically one week would be added to the transit time for the domestic collection and loading onto the vessel.
When shipping to Sri Lanka the goods should be very well packed and placed on a heat treated/ fumigated pallet. Yes, you can. We have a dedicated service for this requirement. The collection address has to be a commercial location (E.g. garage). Also, the goods need to be professionally cleaned, strapped and very well packed on the pallet. Then enter the weight and the dimensions making sure you use kilograms and centimetres ONLY. Based on the provided details you will be able to choose between a number of services. Select the service best suits your needs, and complete the booking online. If the online system cannot automatically generate prices, please fill on the custom quote form and we will get back to you within a few hours.
If you haven't sent a pallet/ parcel before, and you are not sure if your consignment is properly packed, you can take a few pictures and send them to us at office@pallet2ship.co.uk and we can guide you through the packing process. A properly packed consignment will travel safely, and the risk of damage is minimised.
Yes, we ship a large variety of batteries, but we will need the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) of the product to make sure it is safe to be transported through our services. Please be advised that batteries over 100 Wh are considered DG (Dangerous Goods). In this case it has to be packed, labelled and documented to IATA specifications - i.e. professionally packed with a DGN (Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods by Air). Also, please be advised that handling charges may apply if you choose to ship this type of goods by air.
If you are shipping a consignment that's shorter than 200cm and lighter than 750kg, you won't need a forklift. The vehicle assigned to collect your consignment is equipped with both a tail-lift and pump-truck, and the driver should be able to collect/deliver your consignment(s) without any issues. If your consignment exceeds 200cm in height and if it's heavier than 750kg, then yes, you must have a forklift at both collection and delivery points.
Both air freight and sea freight services are available. If your consignment is not urgent, you can choose to send your goods on a sea freight service as this is by far the most cost effective, especially for large and heavy pallets. You can ship from 1 single pallet to full container loads. If your consignment is urgent, and is not larger than 160cm in height, air freight offers the quickest transit times.
