Q: Are the booking cut-offs shown in UK time?

Yes. All published booking cut-offs on this page use UK local time, including deadlines for imports collected overseas. For an overseas collection, the sender should separately confirm the local collection date and time window with the carrier or depot.

Q: Does booking before the cut-off guarantee collection?

No. Collection windows are estimates, not guaranteed appointments. Availability depends on the selected service, collection postcode, carrier capacity, operating calendar and completion of the booking and required documents. The postcode and service notes explain any additional conditions affecting the collection estimate.

Q: Do I have to choose the earliest collection date?

No. Where the selected service offers a choice of dates, you can choose a later available collection date during booking. The cut-off tables describe the earliest estimated collection, not the only date you may request. For an import arranged locally, tell the overseas depot your preferred date so it can confirm availability.

How cut-off and transit times work

A collection cut-off is the latest booking time for the estimated collection window shown. Complete the booking and any documents required for the selected service before that deadline.

Pallet services and parcel services have separate collection arrangements. Use the matching section for your shipment, collection area, destination and transport method rather than applying one service's deadline to another.

“Estimated earliest collection” refers to collection from the sender, not delivery. A booking deadline is not an appointment time, and collection remains subject to service availability and the relevant working calendar. Transit time is the estimated transport period for the selected service, separate from the wait before collection. Check the quote and service information for the applicable start and end points, particularly for sea freight.

Before booking, check the service information under the blue “i” button, prepare the goods for collection and confirm any access or loading requirements. If your shipment needs a fixed collection date, speak to our team before booking.

CI — Commercial Invoice: A document describing the goods, their value, the sender, receiver and reason for export. Where required, it supports customs clearance and must match the shipment details.
IEC Authorisation: The customs authorisation requested for certain TPN services to the Republic of Ireland. It gives the appointed representative permission to complete the relevant customs formalities.
ACE Express Authorisation: The authority form used by Ace Express Freight for applicable Pall-Ex shipments involving the Republic of Ireland. It permits the customs representative to complete the formalities covered by the form.
POA — Power of Attorney: A document authorising a customs representative to carry out specified customs formalities on behalf of the relevant party. The selected service determines whether it is needed.

Cut-off Basics

A collection cut-off time is the latest time to complete your booking for the estimated collection window shown. Any documents required for that service must also be completed correctly by the deadline. Getting a quote or starting a booking does not arrange a collection. The cut-off is a booking deadline, not the time the driver will arrive.

These terms refer to collection from the sender, not delivery to the receiver. “Estimated earliest collection” is the first collection window normally available when the service requirements are met. Delivery transit time is separate. A pallet collected tomorrow for export is not necessarily delivered abroad tomorrow.

Yes. All published booking cut-offs on this page use UK local time, including deadlines for imports collected overseas. For an overseas collection, the sender should separately confirm the local collection date and time window with the carrier or depot.

No. Collection windows are estimates, not guaranteed appointments. Availability depends on the selected service, collection postcode, carrier capacity, operating calendar and completion of the booking and required documents. The postcode and service notes explain any additional conditions affecting the collection estimate.

The earliest collection window shown may no longer be available. The next option depends on the service schedule, collection postcode, relevant holidays and whether the required documents are complete. Missing a cut-off does not always add exactly one day. Check the after-cut-off instructions and the next available date for your selected service.

Standard collection estimates in working days normally exclude weekends and relevant bank or public holidays, unless the selected service confirms a different arrangement. Regional calendars can differ across England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland; imports also depend on the collection country’s operating calendar. For a booking made outside working days, check the next available date and the service’s full collection lead time.

No. Where the selected service offers a choice of dates, you can choose a later available collection date during booking. The cut-off tables describe the earliest estimated collection, not the only date you may request. For an import arranged locally, tell the overseas depot your preferred date so it can confirm availability.

Transit Times

Transit time is the estimated transport period for your selected service. It is separate from the wait before collection and does not start when you book. Working-day estimates normally exclude weekends and relevant public holidays. Check the service information for the applicable start and end points, particularly for sea freight.

Use the collection date and transit estimate for your selected service. For a next-working-day service collected on Monday, delivery would normally be Tuesday if both are working days. Count from the collection date, not the booking date. Check the quote for your route.

No. Published transit times are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. Collection dates and time windows are also estimates and are not guaranteed. Actual timings can be affected by the route, postcodes, customs clearance, public holidays and operational disruption. If your delivery date is critical, contact Pallet2Ship before booking.

Selected UK domestic pallet services offer a separately purchased guaranteed delivery slot. If that slot is missed, the additional delivery-slot charge is refunded in full. This option is not available for European or other international services.

Sea freight transit times depend on the destination and sailing schedule. Where the table says “Varies by destination”, check the quote or contact Pallet2Ship. Door-to-port services deliver to the destination port, not to the recipient’s address.

Not on the listed UK mainland domestic TPN Premium, Pall-Ex Premium and Palletways Premium services. Bookings after 11:45am have an estimated earliest collection of the next working day. A different collection arrangement would need to be confirmed separately with Pallet2Ship.

Pall-Ex Economy: book by 11:45am for estimated next-working-day collection. After 11:45am, its estimate becomes two working days. TPN Economy and Palletways Economy: book by 4:00pm for estimated collection in two working days. Economy deadlines therefore depend on the network, not just the service level.

Yes, where the selected service requires them. Complete your booking and the requested documents before the deadline so the collection can be arranged. Depending on the route and service, this may include a Commercial Invoice and an additional form such as IEC Authorisation for selected TPN entries, ACE Express Authorisation or a Power of Attorney. Your booking instructions identify the forms required.

CI means Commercial Invoice. It identifies the sender and receiver and describes the goods, their value and the reason for sending them. Its information must match the shipment. A Commercial Invoice supports customs clearance. It is separate from the customs declaration and any authority form requested for the service.

An ACE Express Authorisation gives Ace Express Freight authority to carry out the relevant customs formalities for applicable Pall-Ex shipments. Where your service requests CI + ACE Express, complete both the Commercial Invoice and the authority form before the deadline. The requirement depends on the route and selected service.

POA means Power of Attorney. For these services, it authorises the customs representative to carry out the formalities covered by that authorisation. Where your service requests CI + POA, provide both documents. The booking instructions identify the form and the party that needs to complete it.

“None required” means no additional customs document is listed for that service row. You still need the booking information, labels and any other paperwork requested for your shipment. The requirement relates to the particular direction, goods and service. Northern Ireland and non-EU European movements can have different arrangements.

Collection Day

The driver can arrive at any point within the collection window arranged for your booking. An exact arrival time is available only where the selected service expressly confirms one. Provide accurate opening hours and a goods-ready time. For an overseas collection arranged locally, confirm the local window with the depot.

Have the goods securely packed, accurately measured and weighed, labelled as instructed and ready throughout the agreed collection window. Include a copy of the Commercial Invoice where required by the service instructions. Someone should be available to hand over the goods. Provide clear access information and arrange any loading equipment required by your service. Tell Pallet2Ship about restrictions before collection so the arrangements can be checked.

Contact Pallet2Ship with your booking reference if collection is overdue or the carrier reports a failed attempt. The team will check with the depot and help confirm the next available collection where needed. Rebooking arrangements depend on the service and carrier. For a locally arranged import, also check whether the overseas sender has received a call or email from the depot.
