How Does UK Pallet Collection and Delivery Work?

Most UK pallet shipments move through shared distribution networks. Your pallet is collected locally, sorted at a regional hub, trunked overnight to the destination region, and delivered via a local depot. This hub-and-spoke model keeps costs low while maintaining reliable transit times.

Who Uses UK Pallet Collection and Delivery?

UK pallet collection and delivery is used by manufacturers, wholesalers, e-commerce businesses, engineering firms, automotive suppliers, construction companies, Amazon FBA sellers, and retailers shipping stock, parts, equipment, and goods across the country.

How the UK Pallet Network Works

Your pallet is collected by a local depot driver, transported to a regional hub, sorted overnight, moved by linehaul to the destination region’s hub, and delivered to the final address by the local depot. This hub-and-spoke model keeps costs low while maintaining reliable transit times.
A pallet network is a shared distribution system where pallets from different shippers are consolidated through regional hubs for efficient, cost-effective delivery across the country. Major UK networks include Palletways, Pallex, and TPN.
By consolidating freight from multiple customers into shared trailer loads. You pay for your pallet spaces, not an entire vehicle.
A typical network shipment passes through 3–5 handling points: collection, origin hub, linehaul, destination hub, and final delivery.
Oversized pallets, very heavy loads, urgent same-day shipments, and FTL consignments typically move on dedicated vehicles rather than through the shared network.

Pallet Sizes & Requirements

We accept all standard and non-standard pallet sizes including mini quarter (120 × 100 × 60 cm), quarter (120 × 100 × 80 cm), half (120 × 100 × 110 cm), full lite (120 × 100 × 220 cm), full (120 × 100 × 220 cm), and oversized pallets up to 600 × 240 cm.
Yes. Euro pallets (120 × 80 cm) and square pallets (120 × 120 cm) are accepted on all services.
Standard pallet network services accept pallets up to 1,200 kg. Heavier loads can be moved via dedicated vehicles or FTL services.
Forklifts are required for pallets over 750 kg or for oversized pallets that exceed safe tail-lift handling limits.
Yes. Tail-lift vehicles are standard on most pallet network services for pallets under 750 kg.
A stackable pallet has a flat, stable top allowing other pallets to be placed on top. A non-stackable pallet cannot support weight above it. Non-stackable pallets must be declared at booking — failure to do so may result in a surcharge.
Use a strong pallet base, strap goods securely, and shrink-wrap from base to top so the wrap binds goods to the pallet. Heavy items at the bottom. See our Pallet Packing Guide.

Multiple Locations & Consolidation

Yes. We can collect pallets from multiple suppliers or sites and consolidate them for onward delivery.
Yes. Each delivery address requires a separate booking, but multiple bookings can be managed from one account.
Yes. Business customers can manage multiple collection sites, view all bookings, and track all consignments from one account dashboard.
