Different Types of Sea Freight Shipping
The two main ocean freight services are FCL (Full container load) or LCL (Less than container load), and depending on how large your freight is, you can choose the most convenient and cost-effective solution for your pallet delivery.
Sea freight forwarders transport goods in entire containers or share one between several multiple clients. Full container loads (FCL) are usually 40' and 20' containers loaded and sealed at origin.
When you don't have enough items to fill a full container, less-than-container-load or (LCL) services can consolidate your cargo with other shipments in one container. The cost of shipping is distributed among the customers based on the amount of space they require.
Containers are loaded and sealed and then shipped by rail or road to a port. All international shipments must complete the customs clearance procedures of each country and some goods may require inspections.
